Hello folks here is a very apt Wedding for you guys to peruse.
Jenny and Matt married on New Years Eve 2006 at Northcote House the lovely Jennie Middlemiss was there to photograph it all. Having known each other since they were teenagers Jenny and Matt got together at university thanks to a mutual friend.
How did the proposal go?
A nervous Matt drove us to the slopes in Italy planning to propose
at the top of a mountain, the 'moment' took a long time to come as I am not the
best skier and spent a lot of time moaning that I wasn't very good. He found
the perfect place amongst the trees on a very easy and quiet run. I skied
around the corner to find Matt on one knee!! I was so excited and skied to the
bottom without my glove on so I could see the ring!!
What was your favourite part of the Big Day?
Partying with all our friends and family. Everyone looked so brilliant, we had
a dress code, black tie for the boys and 'dress up and sparkle' for the ladies.
It was so lovely to see everyone all dressed up and looking extra glam.
Jenny, did you have a favourite item from the day?
The dress! A sparkly
Jenny Packham number.
What did family and friends say was their favourite
thing of the day?
The party. Being NYE meant everyone was really 'up for a good
time'. And everyone certainly did. We had a count down at midnight with Big Ben
chimes, huge white confetti bombs were thrown from the balcony at the strike of
midnight and then did the conga!! We had a grand piano full with glasses of
champagne - perfect!
What were you most excited and nervous about in the lead
up?
For me I was nervous about the ceremony, and I was anxious that everyone was
going to have a good time. I felt extra pressure as it was NYE. Matt was
nervous about his speech. I was most excited about marrying Matt and he was
excited about seeing me walk towards him. We had a couple of surprises that we
were excited about. As everyone left the wedding breakfast and into the main
room 'Frank Sinatra' was singing on the stairs! I was excited to see peoples reactions!
We also created a video of our guests miming lines to 'A perfect day'. It
worked really well and is still hilarious to watch back.
Are there any funny stories from
the day?
My mum got a
flat tyre on the way to the venue and changed the tyre with my little sister on
the side of the motorway - with rollers in her hair!! Also, the
ceremony was about 30 mins late as the registrar was witness to a car accident
and was postponed. We all got there in the end!
Have you got any hints, tips or advice for
brides to be, Jenny?
Keep smiling, don't stress on the day, there's not much you can
do by that point!
Now, here's to the lovely pics!
