Morning PiP Peeps, it's funny how you approach your style for your wedding. When I got engaged once i'd calmed down from the excitement of it all and we'd discussed the whens, where and whos I started thinking about my shoes. I LOVE shoes, I tend to only buy shoes I have properly fallen in love with. I don't do trainers and ballet flats unless absolutely necessary, it's not that I only wear heels more that I like fun/sexy/cool shoes.
So, my plan had always been to blow a bucket load on my shoes seeing as i'd be able to wear them again lots and would be restrained with my dress budget. Of course, as is often the case, that went all out of the window when I found THE dress! Luckily I was able to get a sample dress which made it slightly more affordable but my dreams of Louboutins and Choos went out of the window. My next stop was to bid on the beautiful and oft seen on wedding blogs Melissa shoes by Vivienne Westwood but I always missed out. I was getting desperate in the month leading up to the wedding, I knew I wanted red shoes but all I could find was bright red and I wanted a 'warm-red-wine' shade. I was lucky my bridesmaid was shopping in Agent Provocateur and came across what she thought would be my perfect pair, she tried them on and sent me pics and I called the following day to order them. When they arrived they were spot on perfect. The perfect shade of red, not too high and a hint of the 1940s about them and an insane bargain in the sale. Hoorah, although i'm sure my beau came across the packaging in the cupboard and was probably disappointed they were shoes not lingerie!

Anyhow, I'm posting today to tell you about Rachel Simpson, if I was going to go for ivory shoes then this lady is THE one! Her beautiful shoes are inspired by the modest ladylike styling of the 1940s (my favourite era). I have picked out some of my favourites below but do check out her site for more styles. And as you'll see she has a few colourful numbers up her sleeves too....

How about having Hettie as your something blue?
I'm a big fan of Mimi

Needless to say if I had my day again I'd be rocking Lola with an ivory ribbon
The Rachel Simpson collection is available online and their shoes are way too nice to save for just your wedding day! Any Rachel Simpson brides out there? What did you wear? What about colourful shoes? I wore red and my sister wore blue, have you been brave with colour? I'd love to know.....
